Inventory Planner Essentials syncs data automatically every night, as well as providing on-demand syncs of variants from and received inventory to Shopify. If you think the data in your account isn't looking correct, this guide provides a starting point of what to expect from the syncs, along with a few things to check and try.
Check the overall sync (nightly)
Inventory Planner Essentials should run a sync every night. The date of the last sync will be shown in Accounts, in the Store tab.
If the Inventory Planner Essentials app is uninstalled in Shopify or if your subscription is past its cancellation date, the sync can no longer run and the date displayed may be in the past.
Check if sales and inventory history matches Shopify
If you want to check specific order, return or inventory numbers for a variant, you can use the Sales and inventory history screen. Learn more about the Sales and inventory history screen here.
In Shopify, you can use the "Net order" column in the "Sales by product variant SKU" report to sense check the sales figures.
Note: Inventory history is the inventory at the start of that day, so may be different to your current inventory in Shopify if sales have already been placed today.
Run on demand syncs
Variants sync
If you have added variants in Shopify and they are not yet showing in Inventory Planner Essentials, you can sync them during the day. Learn how to manually sync variants from Shopify into Inventory Planner here.
If you want to check specific variant attributes that were synced, look at the Variants screen.
Sync inventory updates to Shopify
Once you have received inventory against a purchase order, you need to sync that inventory to Shopify. The inventory sync is manual, so you choose when to run it. You can find which POs have had inventory received that has not yet been synced by using the "Needs inventory update" view in the POs screen.
You can see any sync issues in the "Details" column in the POs screen. Learn more about order badges here.
