If you click on a variant’s name on the Forecast screen, you can view the variant’s forecast details page. The forecast details page displays more granular data about that variant’s forecast, allowing you to explore how its forecast is calculated.

You can use the forecast details screen to edit the variant’s lookback period and adjust its forecast, as you would on the Forecast screen.

At the bottom of the screen, you can click the "Recommend purchase" button to be taken to the Purchase screen filtered to that variant, and click "View sales and inventory history" to be taken to a more detailed look at the variant's synced history. Learn more about the Purchase screen here, and learn more about the sales and inventory history here.

The forecast details screen also displays two charts to help visualize your data.

Sales history and forecast chart

The sales history and forecast chart displays:

  • Up to the last 2 years of sales history

  • The next 18 months of sales forecast

Note that while we display up to 2 years of sales history, the maximum lookback period is 365 days.

Hovering over the chart shows you the figures for each month.

Inventory history chart

The inventory history chart displays your variant’s historical inventory levels, going back up to 2 years.

Data will only start to populate from the date you first sync Inventory Planner with Shopify, so the inventory history will be limited to begin with. Note that historical data cannot be imported.

Hovering over the chart will give you the historical inventory level for that date.
