Low stock alerts

You can set Inventory Planner Essentials to send you notifications if you’re running out of inventory. Inventory Planner can monitor your stock levels and send you an alert once a variant reaches its purchase date, based on its lead time.

Low stock alerts can be configured in your Account settings, accessed by clicking Account > Settings on the top navigation bar.

To set up alerts, enter the email address you’d like Inventory Planner to send the alert to. Emails are sent every weekday (Monday-Friday).

You can configure your alerts in the following ways:

Setting

Description

Receive low stock email

Toggle whether to enable low stock alerts.

Only include newly alerted variants

If enabled, Inventory Planner will only notify you on the first date an item reaches its replenish date. Even if the variant is not ordered that day, it will not be included in future notifications.

This option is disabled by default.

Include variants with negative stock

If enabled, alerts will include variants with negative inventory, i.e. where they have open back orders or preorders.

This option is enabled by default.

If a low stock alert is sent, the email will contain a summary of the items to be purchased, along with a link to Inventory Planner’s Purchase screen filtered by those items.
